| Comments: | Alexander Forrest explored areas of Western Australia under contract to the Survey Department, particularly the Kimberley region, during the 1870s and 1880s. In 1887 he became a member of the Legislative Council of West Australia and for 6 years mayor of Perth and a C.M.G.
In company with his older brother, John (1847-1918), succeeded in finding an overland route from Perth, WA to Adelaide, South Australia, completing the journey in five months.
